Why I Started Making Hanging Mobiles

2 years ago I would not have imagined that I would be here trying to sell hanging mobiles.

I was always drawn to the art world, kinetic art in particular and after I took an early retirement I decided to make some hanging mobiles and give them to children in hospitals here in Toronto to help them pass the time and distract them from their illnesses.

Unfortunately, after ordering different matterials and making several mobiles it turned out that hospitals, due to liability concerns would not allow these mobiles to be hung next to the children.

I didn’t know what to do and then an idea popped into my mind.

I will try to sell my mobiles and donate the profits to a worthy cause. And so I did.

If you noticed, on my Home page I wrote that I will donate 25% of pre-tax profits to charity.
I want to clarify two things.

One: Charity could be any worthy cause that needs money, be it a food bank, blindness research, a hospital, a school, etc.
Two: The reason for the 25% is that this project far exceeded the costs I envisioned so my plan is to increase the donation portion to 75% after I recover my initial monetary outlay.

So that is my short story.
